Ridiculous!

OK, so even my husband has now commented on my blog "slacking!" The guilt of not posting has eaten away at me to the point that I MUST POST! Can someone tell me when life SLOWS DOWN? Right now it is accelerating at warp speed.

The Business:

I am caught up on all back orders and have begun listing new items. These two can be found HERE!

Also, I've noticed that my One Year Blog Anniversary is coming up on Sunday, April 6, so check back for some birthday fun! (Really, you'll want to come back!) (I'm SERIOUS!!)

Our Health:

As I've posted, the flu has come and gone. Our family is back to feeling healthy, once again! However, Saturday, The Princess woke up with some pretty bright pink cheeks. She felt fine, no fever, acted normally, so we let it pass. This morning, I take her to Mother's Day Out, take off her jacket, and notice quite the rash up and down both arms....ARGHHHHH! I walk her to the school nurse who proceeds to tell me that it's Fifth's Disease. Turns out that once the rash shows up, you're no longer contagious, and although it's a little uncomfortable, that's all there is to it. So, I leave her at school and go to my 2nd dentist appointment in 2 weeks.

Here's the story. I HATE going to the dentist....really, I do. I've had a few bad experiences with some bad dentists (and hygienists), and our insurance doesn't offer many choices. After my last really bad experience, I said, "FORGET IT!" Welllll, that was about 4 years ago (I KNOW, I KNOW). My husband started going to a dentist last year and told me he was great...I needed to try him out--whatever. Once my kids hit the age of needing to go to the dentist, we took them to him, and after watching how gentle he was, I decided to give it a whirl. He--and his hygienists--are great. I had 2 areas of my mouth that needed a little work and I'm back to a regular visitation schedule. It's really all about finding the right dentist for you!

The Family:

For you family members who check in to see pics of the kids, here ya go!

The Winner Is.....

Thank you so much for making my first blog party a success! It is late, but I couldn't wait to find out who my contest winner was! So, thanks to a random number generator, the winner is (drum roll, please).....

WAIT, I have to tell you, I had to run the random number generator FOUR times, because the first three numbers were posts that didn't leave me any type of contact information. I feel a little bad about it, but ultimately, I'm choosing to think the winner was just the person who was SUPPOSED to receive my prize. So, CONGRATULATIONS TO.....

POST NUMBER 48--Meredith!!

I will be contacting you in the next day or two to discuss your prize!

Ultimate Blog Party!

***After getting the idea from another blogger, I've dated this post for next Friday, so it'll stay at the top of the blog for this entire week.***

Ultimate Blog Party 2008

Well, after seeing this on a couple of other blogs, I finally had to go check it out....and, it looks too fun to pass by! This is a great way to meet other happy bloggers and also a way to win numerous great prizes! I encourage you to click and check out their site, because this is TOO FUN!!

A little about me--I am a SAHM to a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. It's been my lifelong goal to be a wife and mother. Before motherhood, I taught 2nd grade for 8 years. Now, my creative outlet is making custom boutique clothing for (mostly) girls and (some) boys. My blog is a place where I share about my life, my family's life, and my designs for family, friends, and customers. Thanks for stopping by!

BUT WAIT!!! Don't leave just yet! In the party spirit, I am going to do a give-away! All you have to do is leave a comment in the comments section of this post. Let me know you stopped by, and IF you are a custom boutique buyer (or may become one), let me know what you'd like to see created--fabrics you'd like used, styles you'd like to see, separates options, etc.....I want to know!

The WINNER will be chosen using a random number generator Saturday, March 15th. All comments received before 12:01 a.m. CST on the 15th will be eligible! THE PRIZE will be a custom boutique item of your choice! An outfit, a bag, burp cloths....I'm also open to suggestions that fall within reasonable boundaries (money and time)! Here are some pictures of items I have made that would fall into "reasonable boundaries."

And, OH MY, the prizes! There are so many prizes to be won (as a blogger OR as a blog reader)! My favorites (in order) are:

Normalcy

Sometimes, I crave a little "more" in my life than what usually occurs day-to-day. However, there is nothing I have craved more, this past week, than the normalcy of my life. I had posted about having the flu. Well, the flu morphed into a sinus/respiratory infection, and then the medication made me woozy in the morning. I was SICK for about 10 days--able to do little more than provide food and supervision to my children (who, I might add, were on their absolute best behavior). I am so happy to be on the road to normalcy! I just want to clean my house, make some meals, catch up on all my sewing orders, and spend some fun time with my family.

As I mentioned, my children were really VERY kind and caring while I was trying to recover--very few fights and quick to obey me. Yesterday, I took them on a picnic to the park, and today The King took off of work to spend some time with them (it's The Prince's Spring Break). Tomorrow, we are taking them on a little day trip (2 hours away) to a dinosaur museum with some hands-on activities. The weather has been really nice and they went out to help wash my car today--however, they really spend most of their time playing with the bubbles.

My kids living life "AS KIDS," and not holed up in a sick-house:

When I asked her if she wanted to stick her tongue out like that she said, "YES! I'm the Cat in the Hat!" ?????

He's so proud of his ability to almost do the monkey bars. There aren't any pictures of her at the park, because somebody was letting their dog run around loose, and she doesn't DO dogs--it seemed to be a harmless dog, but sheesh, people! When there are small children playing, you shouldn't let your dog run free!

The BEST part: flying bubbles!

Until they land on your face:

The water still pretty close to FREEZING!

No words necessary:

Pretty much their relationship in a picture:

The FLU

If you've wondered where I've been, or what I've been doing, the answer is pretty much nothing. I caught the flu this year (the respiratory kind). I haven't been this sick, for this long, for YEARS. I've had a fever since Sunday night, complete with chills, shivers, runny nose, deep chest cough, and overall YUCK! I think I finally found something that helps, but if I don't take it every 4 hours, the YUCK comes right back.

By the way, I am the last person in our family to catch it, and it seems I got it the worst (or I'm just a big baby). So, it's been 2 weeks of sick in the house, which means I can't do anything.

Of course, this has made me fall WAY BEHIND schedule in my work. I am in the process of finishing my last Easter order and then need to look at my list and adjust accordingly. A jumper I mailed out today would normally take 1-2 days for me to complete. It took me 5.

Anyway, that's me for now. I'm looking forward to feeling like myself again and getting all these orders OUT! It's not like me to run behind and it's really bothering me!

Soccer Time....Again

It's that time of year, again. This season we signed The Prince up in a different league. It's a 3 on 3 league with no goalie. Plus (and this is the best part for him) his team is made up of his friends from school. The first game was yesterday, and he did pretty well for only having one practice. It was a pretty nice day for March 1. He's got his Daddy's moves:
